Becoming The Trusted Authority Is Easier

Posted on June 29, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Trusted Authority

Have you ever had one of those moments where something you thought was very difficult turned out to be, in reality, very simple? Sometimes, simplicity is actually a bit harder to deal with than complexity. Becoming the trusted authority is probably a bit simpler than you think. In fact, you already have the tools; you’ve probably just never put them to use before!

The trusted authority concept

The trusted authority concept has two things that differentiate it from how must people pursue success. The classic example of how people pursue success and set themselves up for failure can actually be seen in how people go to college. Some people pursue degrees that they hope will make them rich but which cover subjects that they have no interest in at all. Others may not want to go to college at all, but assume that they have to if they want to make money. Being the trusted authority means knowing what you really want, first and foremost, and developing it. This is the concept of following your core competence.

The second thing that being the trusted authority is about is serving others. You’re going to have to get out there and let people know that you really are the authority and that you’re not doing whatever it is you do just to make a buck. Imagine, in a world that’s defined by slick PR and endless marketing campaigns, something about being authentic! It might seem novel, but it’s actually the best way to be successful.

Working on Yourself

You will have to do some work on yourself to become the authority. It starts with realizing why you aren’t where you want to be and why you are where you are. In all honesty, there are most certainly some circumstances beyond your control that landed you where you are. There are probably quite a few things that you could have done differently to get yourself closer to your goal, however, and becoming the go-to-person in your market means taking the time to learn why you might be your own worst enemy, in some cases.

When you really learn to see what it is you have to offer, then you’ll understand why serving others is so important. It becomes more of a joy than actually making money and that, ironically, is more likely to make you wealthy than anything else.

Being the trusted authority takes some work, but you’re already on your way if you’re willing to commit to being authentic to yourself and being authentic with others. If you can really be yourself and engage yourself in what you do best, you’re already doing the work of becoming the trusted authority. With a bit of practice with marketing yourself and with positioning yourself as the trusted authority, you’ll find that you can have the life that you want and that you can enjoy what it means to be someone that people trust and someone that people see success in when they look at you.…

Posted on June 12, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Insurance

In comparison to a job, running a business is always more risky. A person who has lost a job has only the job at stake and can search for other jobs as there are countless organizations available offering some kind of job. On the other hand a businessman’s if unsuccessful in one business have to bear the loss way more than the job person and it is not very easy to wind up one business concern and open another as it requires a lot of investment.

Liability insurance

In short, initiating and running a business is very expensive and a risky proposition. In order to reduce the risk, there are several kinds of insurance plans designed by insurance companies, that you can avail for your business needs. The most important and bare minimum insurance for any business is Liability insurance. Liability insurance basically protects you from any lawsuit filed on your company and is taken to court for the negligence of any staff or company in general. Casualty insurance provides safeguard against the business loss. Mostly the insurance companies offer cumulative packages of casualty and liability insurance.

Another important insurance that is necessary for any business is the property insurance. If you are not running an all online business with no presence on ground, only then you don’t need one, which is highly unlikely the case though. It does not matter if you own the place or not, you can get the property insurance to protect yourself from any damage done to property in case of any natural or other disaster. However, keep in mind that you may have to purchase several policies against different possible disasters like fire, short circuit, tornado etc.

Vehicles insurance

Vehicles insurance is a very important insurance option, especially if the business owns multiple vehicles for its use and has granted vehicles to the employees for personal use in the compensation package. Commercial vehicle insurance is also mandatory to have by law in many countries in the world.

Like liability insurance, compensation for worker insurance is also considered mandatory if the company has multiple employees working for it. Compensation insurance is a cost effective option for the company to provide the certain aspects of compensation package to their employees which are made mandatory by the law.

Life insurance may also be given to the employees based on company’s discretion. Benefits of life insurance are obvious for any one, in case of accidental or natural death while on job, employee’s family gets compensated by money to sustain the livelihood. For manufacturing concerns especially, the disability insurance is also very useful to compensate employees for any possible physical damage done while working with machinery. Apart from the compensation insurance some companies may choose to provide extra health insurance to their employees containing more than the bare minimum state required coverage. If due to any reason the business could not continue to run for a while, then the company gets some compensation if the business has acquired a business interruption policy.…

Shape Up Your Small Business Prospect

Posted on May 10, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Small Business

Any women owned small business company is eligible to apply for the WOSB or Women Owned Small Business Certifications but very few can actually meet the eligibility requirements. To the very first place at least 51% of the business must be owned and operated by one or more women. There are ways to verify the ownership and other statements and so it is essential to be honest throughout the process. Being a woman does not always mean that you will be established to the federal market, it takes hard work and certain innate qualities to attain the market standing. So, you need to evaluate your business status and potential first before opting for the certification program.

Women can do business with as much potential as men can. In fact, in many cases, women are considered to be better suited for certain ventures than men are. For example, the businesses that require much direct contact with clients and partners fit more for women, since they typically tend to be more patient, receptive and responsive than men are. However, in reality it is found that the business market is much tougher for the women compared to their male counterpart. Women business certification programs are therefore so very essential to get established to the federal market. The programs not only help the women entrepreneurs to become eligible for the federal contracts but also make them capable enough to execute a critical business strategy and so to deliver a project smoothly and successfully.

Being a woman entrepreneur you should first find the area or niche that best suits your skills. Well, this often turns harder than it sounds, and it may even take a few years to determine your area of interest and skill set. This is actually essential to best utilize the business opportunities offered by the 8m certification. Knowing yourself and being realistic is always crucial for a successful business person. Now, in case you find it difficult to evaluate your business status just hire a professional consultant. As more and more women are coming into business and are increasingly opting for the federal WOSB certification program, the consulting firms are getting popular to the market. So, it is not that difficult to find a consultant there to help your way.

Apart from that all successful women entrepreneurs should gain at least some experience before they start the venture. In most cases they acquire such experience by working directly in that area where as in some cases the 8(m) certification program provides with the workshops and guidance to make them well aware of the market status. The certifications are therefore not only to win federal contracts and get established to the most competitive market place but also to earn the confidence.

Getting along with employees is just another factor one must consider over. In order to win women business certification and become successful a women business entrepreneur has to be respected by her employees if she wants the business to work. That is the reason why hiring the right people is important here.
Well, these are just a few factors you must keep in mind while planning to start your own venture and opt for the women owned business certification program. So, get online now and find the best support there to shape up your business prospect.…

What Matters Most in Life in Projects

Posted on April 25, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Projects

The other day I came across a recap of one of the most enduring and fascinating research studies ever done on human behavior and the factors that matter in success and happiness. I have read reports on this study periodically over the last couple of decades as my interest in the subject has grown. The study set about to analyze which factors matter most in whether a person is successful (by various measures), healthy, happy, and regards his life as well lived when he looks back in the later years of life.

The project was called the Grant Study, named after its sponsor, W.T. Grant, the founder of a department store chain. For 72 years, the study at Harvard tracked the lives of 268 men who entered college in the late 1930s.
The study was meant to be longitudinal (over a long period of time) and exhaustive. Researchers assembled a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, medical doctors, physiologists, and anthropologists.

In 1967, Dr. George Vaillant, a Harvard medical school professor assumed the lead role on the project and dedicated his career to it. Remarkably, he stayed with the study until it ended this past year. The subjects were monitored, interviewed, and studied in many ways. Their personalities, aptitudes, physical and mental health, eating and drinking habits, exercise, career changes, and financial positions were all evaluated and tracked.

Vaillant drew a number of broad conclusions from the study and discussed those in depth in his book, Adaptation to Life. As the name might suggest, social skills, coping skills, and adaptation to change were identified as some of the most significant factors amongst a multitude that were analyzed.
However, in a 2008 interview, Vaillant was asked: “What have you learned from the Grant Study men?” And in his answer, he revealed his most important finding. His response was: “The only thing that really matters in life are your relationships to other people.”

I think this conclusion is significant in life, in business and in projects as well. Now, I would not say that the only thing that matters in managing a project are your relationships. Because the success of a project is clearly determined by whether the project achieved its business goals. Note that I did not say that a project is successful if it is on “time, on budget, and on specification.” No, a project can claim to be all of those things yet still fail to achieve the actual, underlying business goals.

But the likelihood that a project manager will lead a project successfully to meet its goals, in my opinion, does indeed correlate to his or her relationships with the people in the project. The project manager’s relationships with the customer or business sponsor and with the project team are especially critical to the success of the project. But relationships with all stakeholders, and with senior management who are watching the project from the “outside”, matter as well.

Relationship management is an important part of project management. Pay attention to and work on your relationships in every project. Remember, the project team is not a collection of interchangeable “resources”, as some would have you believe. (You know that instinctively, of course. But be sure to remind those people up the ladder why you want to approve the members on your project team.) Every individual is unique, and you will be most successful if you understand each team member, including their strengths, weaknesses, and motivations.

Likewise, the customer or project sponsor is especially important to the project. Pay attention to and work on that relationship with care and a strong attitude of customer service. Understand their interpretation of the business goal and their expectations of the project. Work to understand their needs, their issues and concerns, and their communication style so that you can be not merely effective, but excellent in interacting with them throughout the project and having them as a satisfied customer when it is done.…

All About Intellectual Property

Posted on April 8, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Intellectual Property

Have you ever seen a product that you knew you had seen somewhere else before? Have you ever read an article that you thought sounded awfully familiar to something else you had read? If either of these cases are true, you may have experienced the stolen intellectual property on display.

When people think of stolen property, they usually and automatically think of a tangible object being stolen from one individual and transferred to another. In cases of stolen intellectual property, a copy is made of one idea and then used or altered, usually for a profit. Every year, thousands upon thousands of new creations hit the market and are exhibited to the public or in private meetings. The most types of intellectual property are patents, designs, trademarks, and copyrights.

Patents or Designs

The usual victim to intellectual property theft including patents or designs are businesses. A patent is an object or system that is protected under law. Patents also have very recognizable features that make the patent what it is, so when someone steals a patent it is usually apparent.

Certain designs belong to a certain system or machine and have the same recognizable features. If someone steals a design that is produced to perform a certain function and he or she profits off of this, he or she can be charged under the court of law for theft of intellectual property.

Trademarks

Branding is one of the most fundamental factors to a great marketing strategy. When a business owner gets his or her trademark stolen, the name of his or her business is diluted. Many people believe that trademarks only involve business brands. However, trademarks are anything an organization or business uses to represent itself. This means that phrases, graphics, or the symbols that makeup a company’s identity are also protected under law.

Copyrights

Original works also play a part in copyrights as well. Copyrights are any intellectual properties that are backed up by an author. Even if the work is not published, an author of a work is protected under law from theft. If somebody makes a copy of a work that is not his or hers, he or she may face a lawsuit by the owner of the property. He or she also cannot make a variation of the same work and pass it off as his or her own work. Common copyright works are:
– literary materials
– music
– artistic work

More Free Software For Business Success

Free Software For Business

I previously wrote an article about some of my favorite free software. It wasn’t a long list because I intended to come back and write again on the subject. And this probably won’t be the end-all list either. Many of us have spent thousands of dollars for software to efficiently run our businesses. But there is an ever-growing offering of absolutely free software that is well-written and can boost your productivity and give you peace of mind. Here are two more of my favorites:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

I am now on version 1.36. You can find this at malwarebytes dot org. In researching this product for this article, I discovered that some other security companies, most notably Norton, use Malwarebyes because it’s simply a speed demon when it comes to scan time. Of course, there are two sides to this issue; the first is finding the problems and the second is cleaning them up. It wouldn’t be much good to find problems faster than a speeding bullet and then do a lousy job of cleanup. I can tell you from personal experience, and from research, Malwarebytes does a good job at both. If you want protection in real-time, there is a Pro version which can be purchased. The Pro version also offers automatic updates and pre-scheduled scans. Compared to some other similar products, Malwarebytes is super simple to install, setup and use. The Pro version is around $25 and there are lots of places you can purchase. Just do an online search.

Cool Timer

The shortcut to this little freeware device sits in the corner of my desktop and my laptop. It’s not fancy, but it’s just a no-nonsense timer that has an interface which can be customized to play a.wav or mp3 file of your choosing or you can use the built in sounds (ranging from a gong to an old-fashioned car horn) when the specified amount of time has elapsed. I just use it when I want to make sure I work within a specified timeframe. For instance, suppose I am about to make a phone call and I want to make sure I don’t stay on the conversation more than 5 minutes. When the caller says “Hello” I enter 5 minutes and press Start. It’s really so simple it almost seems archaic, but you wouldn’t believe how handy this tool is when you begin to use it. If you have a small netbook or other computer in the kitchen, you could even set it for cooking or baking. If you leave your laptop up, it can be set to use as an alarm clock. The company who makes it is Harmony Hollow dot net.

For anyone who didn’t read the first article, Jing was a huge hit with everyone who read it. I’m still receiving emails from folks thanking me for pointing them to Jing. You can find it at jingproject dot com. It’s a screen and video capture program. I use it every day.
I invite you to visit my blog at where I write daily and offer Tips for Life and Business.…

An Effective Internet Marketing Plan

Posted on March 6, 2018September 16, 2020 by Bella E. Hussain

Internet Marketing

So, you’re good at making great coaching programs but sucks when it comes to promoting them in the online arena. Well, there’s no need to feel bad. You see, just like any other skills, internet marketing is something that you can learn and even master in no time. Anyway, while you’re waiting for that to happen, let me help you plan your internet marketing campaign. Below are the simple steps that you need to take to create product awareness and to secure as many leads as possible.

Read about SEO and SEM for internet marketing

First, read about search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). Search engines are your best friends when you’re trying to become visible in the online arena. You want them to list your website or your blog on the top 10 search page results so your prospects can easily find you. That will happen if you know how to optimize your website using white-hat SEO techniques. So, read and learn as much as possible about SEM and SEO. If possible, hire SEO experts to mentor you so learning will get a lot easier for you.

Create your website

You need to really think it through when creating your website as this will be the face of your business in the World Wide Web. It’s important that you’re creative and that you commit yourself to coming up with nothing but the best. Don’t have the technical know-how? Well, you’re not alone. The good news is, you can easily hire professional website designers to help you out.

Generate traffic for your website

This is something that you’ll need to do for a very long time. In fact, you’ll need to do this as long as you’re operating your business online. So, how do you send interested people to your website? Well, there are so many things that you can do to make this happen. You can make use of article marketing, PPC advertising, blogging, link building, and social media marketing. The key here is promoting your website to the places where your target audience usually go.

Start your own blog

Having your own blog is good for your coaching business. You’ll need a portal where you can just discuss your ideas and issues related to your niche in a very relaxed, lay back manner. You can also use your blog as a channel where you and your prospects can talk and change ideas on a regular basis.

Showcase your in-depth knowledge

You need to give your prospects compelling reasons to trust you. They have to believe that you’re an expert and that you can provide them with the information and assistance they need to realize their goals or to be empowered to do things on their own. One way to do that is by sharing a slice of your expertise. Offer in-depth information by hosting seminars, by publishing free short ebooks, by writing newsletters, and by distributing articles on directories, blogs, forums, and even on social networking sites.…
